Trump Extends Measures Against Chinese Companies

Chinese makers of telecom equipment such as Huawei and ZTE have been blacklisted in the United States for a year longer.

President Donald Trump extended an execution order by at least another year.

In concrete terms, this means that American companies are excluded from using telecom equipment from companies that pose a security risk.

The Americans blacklisted Huawei and ZTE a year ago because the companies would pose a threat to national security.

Washington suspects the companies of close ties to the Chinese government and accuses the companies of espionage practices.
