Airline Transavia expects to occasionally have to cancel flights in the coming period due to the “erratic” labour market, but there will be fewer than before.
The company says it will be recruiting and training plenty of new staff before the summer. A spokeswoman said this after earlier reporting in De Telegraaf, which stated that flights at Transavia were cancelled due to staff shortages.
Transavia says it takes into account outflow and absenteeism when hiring and training new staff. For example, in the case of cancellations, passengers are rebooked on another flight.
The KLM subsidiary was not yet able to say exactly how many flights will be cancelled in the near future. Transavia says it is doing everything it can to prevent flights from being cancelled. For example, Transavia is looking at where flights can be combined and whether flights can be operated by other parties.
