Spanish Coronavirus Death Toll Increases by 95

The Spanish death toll from the new coronavirus rose by 95 on Wednesday. That’s a slight increase from Tuesday’s 83 deaths, the Department of Health said.

The total death toll is now 27,888, the ministry said, while the number of confirmed cases of infection has risen to 232,555.

Spain requires the wearing of mouth masks in public places for everyone from 6 years old, both indoors and outdoors, if it is not possible to keep 2 meters away from each other.

According to a regulation published on Wednesday, masks must then be worn on public roads and other open spaces, as well as in closed public places.

The measure applies from Thursday during the state of emergency. It is not yet clear when it will expire, possibly as early as June 7, Spanish media reported.
