Russia Rejects Criticism About Intimidation Dutch Frigate

According to the Russian Defence Ministry, fighter planes intervened in the Black Sea last week to prevent the Dutch frigate Zr. Ms.

 

Evertsen would enter Russian waters, reports Interfax news agency. They would have flown at a safe distance from the ship.

The Dutch Ministry of Defense said earlier on Tuesday that the Russian aircraft had caused “unsafe situations” at the naval ship Outgoing Minister Ank Bijleveld (Defence) called the action of the Russians “irresponsible”.

The armed planes flew low over the ship for hours, carrying out feint attacks. The frigate’s electronic equipment was also disrupted. The ministry speaks of “harassment practices”.

The incident took place last Thursday in the Black Sea near Crimea.
