Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has tested positive for the coronavirus, the presidential office said Monday.
“The head of state feels good and will continue to exercise his duties remotely in self-isolation,” the office said in a statement.
“There are no happy people for whom Covid19 is not a threat,” tweeted Zelenski (42) himself. “Despite all the quarantine measures, I got a positive test.
I feel fine and take lots of vitamins. Promise to isolate, but keep working. I will overcome Covid19 as most people do. It will be fine!”
Several prominent leaders worldwide have contracted the virus in recent months.
They include US President Donald Trump, Brazilian Head of State Jair Bolsonaro and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
