More Deaths, Fewer Infections in Lombardy Italy

The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in the northern region of Lombardy, the epicentre of Italy’s contamination, has risen by 458 to 6818 in one day, according to a source of data.

The number of new deaths is higher than Sunday when 416 people died.

The number of confirmed cases in the region, which also includes Milan, the country’s financial capital, increased by 1154 to about 42,161, the source said.

That increase was much smaller than the 1,592 new contamination cases registered on Sunday and the 2,117 on Saturday.
