France expects the first doses of Moderna’s corona vaccine in the coming days. So said the medical expert who coordinates the country’s vaccination strategy against television channel BFM.

This week, the European regulator EMA gave the green light for using the drug in the European Union. Since last month, they have also been vaccinated with the corona vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech.

In addition to France, other EU member states have already announced that they expect the first load of the Moderna vaccine in the short term.

A top Italian official said Thursday that the first doses of the Moderna drug would be delivered next week. The army will then assist with the distribution.

Minister Hugo de Jonge of Health and his German colleague have also said that the first delivery is expected next week.

The production and distribution of the vaccine is a major logistical operation. Swiss freight group Kuehne + Nagel will provide worldwide distribution of Moderna’s corona vaccines from locations in Europe. The company will both transport and store the vaccines.
