Williams’ Formula 1 team continues with Jamie Chadwick as a development driver. The 22-year-old British, in 2019 the first champion of the W Series, is entering her third year with Williams.
Chadwick will regularly be behind the simulator at the Williams plant in Grove and attend many Grand Prix.
Briton George Russell and Nicholas Latifi from Canada are Williams’ regular drivers in Formula 1, just like last season. Israeli Roy Nissany is the test driver of the British team. Last year he was allowed to get behind the wheel in a free practice session before a GP.
Chadwick won the first edition of the W Series, the women’s racing series, two years ago. She then stayed just ahead of the Dutch Beitske Visser in the final score. Last year, the W Series was cancelled due to the corona pandemic.
For this season, the W Series is linked to Formula 1. The women will drive eight times in the same weekend and on the same circuit as the Formula 1 drivers. On September 4, the women will race in Zandvoort.
