First US Passenger Flight With Haunted MAX in Sight

The American airline American Airlines will do a passenger flight on Tuesday with the troubled Boeing 737 MAX. The plane was grounded for the past two years after two fatal crashes of the type.

It is a flight from Miami to New York. A total of 172 passengers can be carried on board, but it is unclear whether all seats are occupied.

American Airlines wants to deploy the MAX daily between Miami International Airport and La Guardia Airport. In January this should be 36 flights a day.

Relatives of the crashes still think that the aircraft is not suitable for flying, they recently announced. American Airlines is not the first airline to use the MAX again.

The Brazilian airline GOL is now the first commercial airline in the world to operate flights again.
