Messages on Facebook and Instagram about corona vaccines will now receive an information label from the World Health Organization.
The social network company announces this on its own website.
For example, messages questioning the vaccines’ safety receive a label stating that the vaccines have been carefully tested. Initially, the label will be available in English, Spanish, Indonesian, Portuguese, Arabic and French. Other languages should follow in the coming weeks.
Facebook is also introducing several restrictions to prevent the spread of fake information. For example, messages from users who have previously posted fake news are less widely publicized.
When they post a message in a group, it must be manually approved by an administrator.
WhatsApp is also given a more significant role from Facebook in the fight against the coronavirus. This makes the chat app the official way for Buenos Aires residents to hear when it is their turn to be prodded.
