The United Nations Security Council will hold emergency consultations on the crisis in Ukraine Friday afternoon, diplomatic sources have reported.
According to them, the meeting will start at 4.30 pm (UK time).
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had called for an emergency meeting after Russia’s capture of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe.
The United States, France, Norway, Ireland and Albania rallied behind Johnson’s appeal.
The UN has not yet officially confirmed that the Security Council will meet.
