The Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has an annoying cough and a slightly elevated temperature of 38.1 degrees.
Three of the fifteen inmates on his ward in prison have been taken to a hospital with possible tuberculosis, his Instagram account says.
The 44-year-old critic of President Vladimir Putin already had back and leg complaints and previously complained about inadequate medical assistance in the penal camp, located about 100 kilometres from Moscow.
He would also be woken every hour and suffer from sleep deprivation. He decided to go on a hunger strike last week. According to his team, Navalny had already lost 8 kilos before announcing that he would no longer eat.
The Russian prison service states that everything is running according to the rules. All prisoners are entitled to eight hours of uninterrupted sleep, but guards can monitor prisoners at night, the service said last week.
