EU Ignores Conference on Syrian Refugees

The upcoming international conference in Syria on the return of refugees will have to do without European countries.   The European Union and its member states do not think Syria is safe enough yet, says the EU foreign chief. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is eager to see the Syrians who have fled the civil war in his country in recent years and convenes a conference to make it happen. Patron Russia, among others, will participate in Damascus from Wednesday. But the European countries, which have welcomed many Syrians, are ignoring the invitation, according to EU foreign coordinator Josep Borrell. IS is Again Fully Active With Large-Scale Attacks in Syria and Especially Iraq

While the world has its hands full with fighting the coronavirus, the Islamic State terrorist organization (IS) is again fully active with large-scale attacks in Syria and especially Iraq.   Since the start of Ramadan this weekend, IS has claimed responsibility for more than 260 attacks in Iraq alone. 426 were killed and injured. According to its own propaganda channels, IS had launched an "attrition campaign" with a series of attacks in the lost caliphate, which spanned much of Syria and Iraq, as well as Egypt, Nigeria, Niger, Congo and Mozambique.
